It may seem weird, but the well-written documentation can be significantly more efficient and influential on your target audience than different SEO articles coupled with marketing strategies. Why? Simply because help documents and quick start guides are the first things that your customers want to read when evaluating your product. The demand for clear documentation would be even higher for customers who purchased your product because they want to know how the hell your product works in detail.
Computer technologies have always been in my DNA. Probably this was one of the reasons for becoming a technical writer in 2012. Since then, I have been involved in creating different types of deliverables (for instance, user manuals, FAQs, step-by-step guides, blog articles/reviews, etc.). I work on documents thoughtfully and thoroughly, polishing them until the last character, eventually transforming these documents into a remarkable handmade art.
This blog appeared almost right after I became a technical writer. This experience changed my life, not just by improving my writing style but also by allowing me to discover new knowledge and skills. One interesting fact: my blog is bilingual, having Russian and English languages on board. Reading catchy books, blog articles, and other carefully crafted texts is a passion of mine. They make my mind fly. The most magnificent examples are the following:
- A book “Work for Money, Design for Love" by David Airey
- The Verge and MakeUseOf blogs
- Vertu and Xiaomi websites
